The Office of Chief Archivist of Lithuania in cooperation with the state archives of Lithuania are making efforts to preserve documents created and connected to the Lithuanian diaspora all around the world. A number of diaspora documents were handed over to preserve in Lithuanian state archives. However, some are still preserved abroad where those documents were created by private persons, organisations and communities.
